吉隆坡两所澳大利亚学校评测

吉隆坡澳大利亚学校评论

A survey found that Kuala Lumpur has the highest literacy percentage in Malaysia. The majority of academic topics are taught in Malay, whereas mathematics and scientific sciences are taught in English. But teaching and learning capabilities vary by educational degree. Kuala Lumpur contains 13 universities, 79 high schools, 155 primary schools, 136 kindergartens, and is home to Malaysia’s oldest university, University of Malaya.

Many schools have been in Kuala Lumpur for many years, catering to the expats from those countries. After WWII, in the 1950s, a few Australians, mainly military and merchants, visited Malaysia. Most Australians choose to visit the UK rather than Malaysia due to the high cost of tourism. The advent of music via radio in the 1960s, coupled with Malaysia’s beauty, gastronomy, and friendliness, drew more Australians to the nation, increasing traffic by 1970. However, Australians tended to travel as tourists rather than expatriates, therefore the creation of schools based on the Australian curriculum lagged behind other countries. Two Australian institutions near Kuala Lumpur offer academic programs and facilities that are unmatched globally. Both are in Selangor (20 km from Kuala Lumpur).

AIS Malaysia
The Australian International School Malaysia is located in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, just south of Kuala Lumpur. With the help of Australia’s intellectual and sporting achievements, AISM was created in 2000 by an Australian-Malaysian cooperation. The school began with two students and five employees and now has 650 students from 40 countries and 50 employees. As part of Taylor’s Education Group, one of Malaysia’s largest private education providers, AISM pledges to educate global young to be global leaders. It is one of the greatest Australian schools in Kuala Lumpur. AISM is the world’s first Certified Visible Learning School, offering students academic, leadership, thinking skills, co-curricular, international, service learning, career planning, and character-building activities.

The school’s internationally recognized curriculum guides students to achieve the HSC (Higher School Certificate) that helps them get into colleges all around the world. The basic stage of education uses the Reggio Emilia model, influenced by early childhood educators. The outdoor learning areas include a covered sandpit, gardening boxes, a multi-purpose gymnasium, soft-fall jogging areas, climbing frames, and innovative and stimulating play equipment. Indoor learning areas include art and craft areas, reading nooks, science tables, and home corners. As children grow, more learning tools are added to their experiences. A science lab, an Apple Mac lab, a library, a gymnasium and a black box theatre are among the amenities. Lifelong learners who are passionate about academic and personal achievement are sought to be positive global citizens and leaders.
